1994 Ford Explorer 4.0?

Does anyone know where I can get something called a CID for my 1994 explorer 4.0 eddie bauer edition....I tried all the junk yards around here but no one has it and the dealer wants 488.00 for it and part store wants 400.00!!! OUTRAGOUS! So if anyone could please help me it would be greatly appreciated! =)
